Quinquennial and Condition Surveys

The condition of a building at a point in time

Historic buildings require regular, expert attention to prevent small defects from becoming costly failures. Our condition surveys are thorough, clearly written, and practically useful — not just a compliance exercise, but a genuine tool for managing your building.

We inspect all accessible elements of the building fabric, from the roof coverings and rainwater goods to the foundations and internal structure. We photograph and record defects, assess their severity, and provide prioritised recommendations alongside an indicative cost plan to help you budget for maintenance.

Our surveyors are experienced in the full range of historic construction methods and materials — from medieval stonework and timber frames to Victorian brick and terracotta — and we bring that understanding to every survey we undertake. AABC accreditation qualifies our surveyors to inspect the most significant sites, including grade 1 and grade 2* listed properties, as well as scheduled ancient monuments.
